Spikes do not belong in the shower

Want to conserve your water usage?

Apparently these dynamic shower curtains are designed to help you monitor your water use. These curtains use steam to inflate as your shower progresses. If your decadence keeps you in the shower too long, the shower curtain either strangles you or spikes you, depending on the model. Are you kidding me?!?!

You can find someone who is "green" and maybe even a little over the top around every corner. But this is just ridiculous. Just wash faster and then get out. Seems simple enough for me.

Spoon

I came into the living room last night to find these two had already gone to bed because their life is very demanding. Now you can see what I mean when I say "curled up together."

Have you ever seen something so sweet? I cannot blame Otis. You can find me in that exact location some evenings. I don't know who has it better here. The shih tzu laying on a warm bullmastiff's tummy or the bullmastiff with a loving shih tzu's head on his tummy.

Oops I got caught being an annoying. Right here it looks like Otis is saying 'okay mom, did you get the picture? Can I go back to sleep now?'

This little teddy bear is getting that mop tamed on Thursday. No more Ragga Muffin!

I wish I may, I wish I might

I so badly want to build an Inukshuk out at the store. I think our customers would get a kick out of it and I think they are simply fantastic! Oh and I love the thought that it is a homage to our Canadian roots.

My parents keep telling me to "do it today." They are digging the idea of our own personal Rock Man too! But the thought of just starting this project makes me want to sit down and drink a diet coke. (is that weird?)

Hello? Is there anybody out there?

I brought the littlest trouble maker to work today. Both the pups LOVE coming to work with me. 12 acres to run, 6 co-workers to play with, and 1 lab to pester makes for a paw-fect day.

If someone comes in with a kiddo or a suit we stick Otis in my parents office to keep him from jumping. So as I am talking to customers I usually see a wet little nose peeking out at me. Is that not a pathetic sight?

I get the pathetic site and my parents get this hilarious view.

Sleeping Beauty

I am wondering why I have so many pictures of Zeke sleeping. I think this obsession started with my love of his big ol' head. Since I have so many I thought I would share a few.

Here he is taking a break from his Fun in the Sun. It is hard work wading in the water, being lifted on and off the boat, and being fed ice cubes.

Here he really wanted to take a nap with Otis so he thought if he threw a leg over him him would not be able to leave him. Mission Accomplished.

Moments after this Zeke got up moved a foot over and then cursed the sun for moving and interrupting his Zzz's. Doesn't it know he sleeps best in full sun!?

ohhh man my weakness....squished flat jowls

....my heart has officially melted.....

I obviously think he is super sweet when he sleeps since I could make an entire album of his "sleeping shots." But this picture shows how major my weakness is for him while he sleeps since I let him break a major rule in the house. No Bullmastiffs on the Couch.

A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down

Errr I mean.....a spoon full of WET DOG FOOD helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down, the medicine go down....

Sure everyone has a medicine cabinet but not everyone has a Dog Medicine Cabinet. Man we are lucky to have one of those! (can you hear the sarcasm?) This is the medicine Zeke has used in the past year alone. Poor little baby.....

He has a skin virus that will not go away. We have tried different vets/creams/pills/soaps and nothing makes it go away. It is very frustrating because when the virus is not under control it brings Zeke A LOT of pain.

Now we give him an antibiotic twice daily. This is the only thing that makes it where he can walk and is not in pain. Taking his pill twice a day does not bother him since this means a spoon full of wet food! We shake the pill bottle and they both come running.

Otis will not eat off the spoon, even though this would make my life a lot easier, so he gets the tupperware lid.

Dirt and Peppers

Ty said my last post was cheesy so I thought I needed to make up for it somehow. I think something about dirt and peppers should do it.

We wanted to plant veggies in the backyard. But with a large family of rabbits living in our backyard we knew it would be a battle we would loose. We do know no amount of chicken wire will keep a family of rabbits from your freshly grown goodies! So planting in pots was the only way we could keep the dream of fresh veggies alive. We had this ridiculously ugly table in our shed and thought with a coat of paint it would do to keep our pots out of little rabbit hands.

We thought we were being so smart with our pots and table. We could choose the spot in the yard which gets the most sun to place the table, we will not have to pull weeds, and the dog's little noses will not be knocking plants over. BUT we were not smart by not looking up. If we had we would of seen that part of the roof did not have a gutter. After one springtime shower our little pots looked a mess! The poor little things were drowned!

A couple little guys made it. They made me smile....Yet with how the soil was bouncing in and out of pots during the rain I bet we will have more pepper plants growing on the ground than in the pots.

Mental Note: Do not put pots beside house where there is not guttering.

She had me at Hello

This lovely lady is Linzi. She has been stuck being my best friend for over 20 years. I sure am lucky.

She has a BEAUTIFUL family. Here she is prego with her daughter Stella. Baby Collin was soon to come.

When I picked up the phone the other day to her crying that her neighborhood was up in flames my heart stopped......I would move a mountain for Linzi if I could yet at that moment there was nothing I could do but pray that God would save her house. I was so scared for her....

LUCKILY her house made it through the fires and now I feel like I should get her and John a plane ticket to the closest private island to relax! They deserve it!!

Watch out this will get you

This video pulls at my heart strings! And it reminds me of Zeke's hugs.

The reason for the Season

First Peter 3:18 tells us, “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.”

The new guy

When you come into our house now if you look really close you will see this little fella. I say you have to look closely because he is only 1 1/2 inches tall.

I know he looks silly just sitting there but he is already working. I found a dollar in the parking lot yesterday. When I got home I patted him on his head and told him thank you and to keep on bringing the good luck!
Elephants represent Good Luck in Fortune and so far so good with my new guy. Go ahead and put one by your front door, any elephant will do, just make sure he is "walking" into the house and not headed out. Since you want him to bring the good luck into the house.

Wyatt, 3 years old

There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million. ~Walt Streightiff

Even his photography is perfect..........yes, I am a proud Aunt.

Chair Upgrade

Look what I did!!!

Well I did it. I took the leap and recovered my first chair! When it was taken apart I did not paint it because I thought I would surely mess something up during the recovering process and didn't want to waste my time painting. But now I am kicking myself for not painting it cream! My love is out of town for a couple of days for work so it would be a perfect evening to hang in the garage with my paint brush............or I might just eat left overs and watch some high quality reality tv!

Making Music

I got to hang out with my two favorite little munchkins the other evening.

Thank you sister for making such perfect babies.

TWENTY THINGS TO REMEMBER

1. Faith is the ability to not panic.

2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you prayed, don't worry.

3. As a child of God, prayer is kinda like calling home every day.

4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.

6. Do the math. Count your blessings.

7. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

8. Dear God : I have a problem. It's me.

9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.

10. Laugh every day -- it's like inner jogging.

11. The most important things in your home are the people.

12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. Come on in.

14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments..

17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it; otherwise it's just hearsay.

18. Its all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.

19. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out it's neck.

20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. Leave gentle fingerprints on the soul of another for the angels to read.

My grandma-in-law sent this to me in an email today. I am printing this off and taping it on my bathroom mirror. Defintiy words to live by.
